Attempts to register the Internet domain nameAutistan.org.np

In 2016 in Kathmandu, we did everything we could to register the domain name Autistan.org.np, because owning an Internet national domain name (country code top-level domain, ccTLD) is crucial for our concept of virtual embassies, since it creates a legal link between us and a country.

np.Autistan.org (currently used) is just a subdomain of Autistan.org, it’s not linked legally to Nepal.
We can use any characters to make a subdomain, likenepal.Autistan.org”, orwhatever.Autistan.org”.

The good news is that it’s impossible to purchase .np domains, because they aresurprisinglyfree of charge

The bad news is that in order to obtain one, you need to have a legal entity with the same name, meaning we have to create a Nepalese association calledAutistan…”: we tried, but it’s REALLY too much difficult for us.

The few photos of our attempts below may give you an idea of the bureaucratic obstacles (not to saymountains”).

Administrative offices handling associations in Kathmandu

Explanations kindly given to us, but

List of tasks (impossible for us, as it would also require a bank account, among other major obstacles, including even two recommendation letters…)
