Em 2016 em Katmandu, fizemos tudo o que podíamos para registrar o nome de domínio Autistan.org.np, porque possuir um nome de domínio nacional da Internet (domínio de nível superior com código de país, ccTLD) is crucial for our concept of virtual embassies, since it creates a legal link between us and a country.
np.Autistan.org (currently used) is just a subdomain of Autistan.org, it’s not linked legally to Nepal.
We can use any characters to make a subdomain, like “nepal.Autistan.org”, ou “whatever.Autistan.org”.
The good news is that it’s impossible to purchase .np domains, because they are – surprisingly – free of charge…
The bad news is that in order to obtain one, you need to have a legal entity with the same name, meaning we have to create a Nepalese association called “Autistão…”: we tried, but it’s REALLY too much difficult for us.
The few photos of our attempts below may give you an idea of the bureaucratic obstacles (not to say “mountains”).
