Meeting with autism professionals and parents of autistic children in Kathmandu

0. Short point of view about autism

0.1. Summary by ChatGPT

The text discusses autism as a state of being in which individuals remain largely unaffected by the artificial and nonsensical aspects of modern society from the beginning of their lives.
They maintain their innate qualities such as innocence, sincerity, and kindness without distortion from societal norms.
Autistic individuals are not interested in societal conventions and feel that engaging with society further will compromise their authenticity.
Communication difficulties arise as a form of self-protection, and attempts to engage with society often involve emulation or simulation of normal behavior.
Autistic individuals experience sensory overload and aggression from societal inconsistencies, leading to frustration and isolation.
However, instead of addressing the root causes of their suffering, society often attempts tocurethem, leading to further injustice and mistreatment.
The text highlights the lack of understanding and empathy from society, particularly from doctors who see autism as a psychological problem rather than a different way of experiencing the world.

0.2. Original text

This text was written as part of a preparatory reflection before a meeting with parents of autistic children in Kathmandu, Nepal, in May 2016.

What is calledautismis the characteristic of the human beings strong enough to be, from the beginning of life, not influenced by the artificiality and nonsense of the current society.

They keep their potential unspoiled, especially at the neurological level, which allows them to keep a naturally high sensitivity, and the original qualities of every human being at the beginning of his life (innocence, sincerity, kindness …) without being distorted and perverted by the social environment and its stupid conventions.
They are, of course, not interested in the nonsense and concerns of today’s society, which is artificial andlost”. And, secondly, they feel that the more they will be in contact with it, the more they will lose their authenticity and integrity, beingpollutedandcorrupt”, which is contrary to their essence.
That is why there is no desire to reach out to others, and that is why there are blockings in the communication, which are in fact a kind ofself-protection”.
When an autistic still communicates with this society, it is in anemulationmode, orsimulation of a normal person”, but keeping anyway their own personal referential and thought system, which explains misunderstandings and unsuitability.
We are constantly assaulted by all sorts of aggressions, that we feel through the neurological system (with the senses and the brain). These aggressions are coming almost always, from the others, from a society victim of its own system.
Consequently, we will be irritated, but not the other people, since, for them, the nonsense and inconsistencies arenormaland since they are less sensitive, due to their formatting and their limitations, which makes that they don’t see anything of what we are seeing and which is aggressing us.
The irritation and the inability to communicate, to find solutions and a relief will inevitably, sooner or later, generate a nervous breakdown, and it is only at this time that the others will realize that there is a problem.
Given that they do not see the problems that we face, they think that the problem is internal to us, and they call ittroubles”.
Instead of providing solutions and accommodations to the things that make us suffer, and that they refuse to see because they are formatted by thenormalitaristicmajority system, they want tocureus, and then we suffer all kinds of injustices and nonsense treatments (such as forced hospitalization, medicines), not to mention, otherwise, bullying, exploitation, segregation, etc.
Then this makes us sad, depressed, embittered, desperate, sometimes suicidal, and more irritable and frustrated over the years.
Given that the doctors, who are formatted by the system to be doctors, do not understand anything in all that (apart from some rare exceptions), they see us as personshaving a psychological problem.
And given that they see us assick”, and they consider themselves superior and allowed to take care of us, then they are not bothered by the fact that they do not understand us, and instead of questioning themselves and their inability to understand, they just think that they if do not understand us it’s simply because we havea problem in the head”, which, in the best case, they callautism”.

1. Meeting

1.0. Introduction

A banner in the AutismCare Nepal (ACN) building in Kathmandu.

Here is the audio recording of a discussion between parents of autistic children and Eric L. (autistic activist, founder of the Autistan Diplomatic Organization), at the headquarters of AutismCare Nepal Society, Kathmandu, on May 2nd 2016.
The meeting lasted more than 3h30.

The meeting room before it started

A sign-in sheet (“attendance sheet”) that began circulating around the table (there were at least twice as many people as listed)

The Autistan Diplomatic Organization was not mentioned in this meeting, as although the concept of Autistan already existed, the concept of aDiplomatic Organizationonly emerged a few months later in Kazakhstan.
However, explanatory meetings with parents of autistic children (and adults) around the world fall within the scope of our organization.
